My current pads are 5.25" LC foam pad. I might skip the duospur for now then. In what cases do I need a wool pad?

Heavy correction works on paint, working on hard paint (like ceramic clear, etc.), polishing stainless steel/aluminium....

For rotary....yes. You can also use normal stiff toothbrush or the like on foam, not as effective as the duospur but good enough la. But on wool pads, it's quite essential.....

Yup, if not will cake up....

This is from a 12 year old car. Any suggestion if this type of problem can be solved?

What pads do you have and what size? Beside the Ultimate Compound and SwirlX, do you have any other polishes?

For one thing, you'd need a smaller pads if working on those portions that you've shown in the pictures. Something like a 2 1/2" ~ 3" backing plate with the small spot buffing pads. The backing plate that comes with the DeWalt is more suitable for pads size >7". And Ultimate Compound is quite aggressive on a rotary so you might need another mild polish to follow up. I would suggest Ultimate Polish. SwirlX would dry very quickly on a rotary.
