Hello Mates,
I'm an expat in Malaysia, came here couple of months back. My office will help me get a car loan of RM 60K. They give one condition for buying second hand that it cant be older than 2011. So I need your expertise comments on below:
1) Local new car Or Second Hand Foreign Car to buy?
2) If local car then Proton or Perodua? Which model?
3) Which are the top second hand car dealers in KL? Dealers who will give warranty on car parts?
Your valuable comment will really help me great deal.
Thank You!!

Just browse through all the topic thread available......
You might want to read more of the cars individually in the Car Owner's Craze section.

If you are buying second hand, be careful with the interest rates. New cars usually have an interest rate of 2.5%+-. Used cars can have interest rates of 8%. It's simple interest so that 8% can be a lot.
For RM60k, you don't have a whole lot of choice in Malaysia. If it's a second hand car, you are looking at a Suzuki Swift, Ford Fiesta or Peugeot 207.
The Exora might be your best option but Proton's build quality isn't brilliant.

What about Proton Preve? I like the look of Preve better than Exora. Also Im expecting maintenance of second hand Peugeot 207 would be high.
I think now I'm down to Myvi or Preve. Please suggest.

I haven't driven either. The Myvi is Malaysia's best selling car. I don't really know anything about the Preve.
The best thing is to test drive them both and get the one you like best. They are both established models so you should be able to haggle on the price.
