Dear Mazda 6 owner,

My Mazda 6 2.5 has been using its stock battery for almost 2.5 years now. I know I am pushing its limit when it comes to battery life span. I would like to get it changed before I went into any trouble. I have heard news about after disconnecting the battery, the car would go paralyzed due to many systems and electronics involved with the car. This makes me hesitate to make the battery change myself. Can anyone help to advise please? Should I bring the new battery and go to Mazda service center to have them change it for me instead?

Thanks in advance for the help given. Appreciate it!

Start your car, let your car engine idling, then replace with new battery. Otherwise, just changed as usual as only radio channels, time set, and trip computer reading reset after changed.

William,

Thanks for the advise. The battery change won't affect the immobilizer system of M6?

William,
does the SC replace the OEM battery with Panasonic also or with some local brand?

One shop told me when replacing a battery for Estima that the engine must idle during battery change or the systems will go haywire and costs a few hundred RM to fix.

If Bermaz workshop, usually replace with AC Delco, but other authorized workshop, depend on their battery supplier.
