Guys, any skoda owner willing to share their ownership experience. I know bro kenso seems to have a pleasant experience with his octavia but what about others. Any feedback especially from octavia vrs owners. Been eyeing the VRS for the past few weeks. Went to Glenmarie showroom to see and feel in flesh and the car got my heart thumping. Its what underneath that matter most to me. To me, visually the car is still beautiful but in an old fashioned kind of way. The interior space, the boot space and the solid built won me. I especially like the chunky steering wheel and the real brushed alum inserts on the dashboards and door panels. Really sporty but discreet. The car even smell like a vw.
Check out the service bay. Lots of skoda waiting to be serviced. I'm staying near Glenmarie so service shouldn't be a problem.
Will study the car further and its total ownership experience before making that leap of faith. Once you get a skoda, it will definitely be a long term relationship.

I don't have a Skoda, but am looking for one too.

Coincidentally, today I had spotted the latest Skoda Superb. Happy to see that at least there are (very very few) new Skodas on the road.

If you are looking to buy a Octavia VRS, I would suggest waiting for them to launch the latest Octavia here. You'll probably get a great deal for the old Octavia VRS too if the new one are launched. smile_thumbup.gif

So, finally tempted huh? wink.gif
###### badge snobbery, right?
The VRS is a perfect sleeper car. Practical, understated (with the right colour) yet powerful.
What aspect of car ownership experience are you looking for? Do you have anything specific in mind?

Main difference between the VRS and the FSI version should be the engine, transmission, suspension and brakes. You also get a facelifted nose, different front/rear lamps, climatronic, better audio unit, nicer partial leathers for the seats< some minor bits.
Putting myself in your shoes, i wouldn't worry too much. The 2.0 TSI is widely used. The 6-speed wet clutch dsg is reputedly reliable and do not fail like the 7-speed dry clutch. SC still running good and looks to stay. When you're feeling stingy or out of money, can just find Golf Mk5 GTI half cut reasonably easy. Many independant Audi/VW workshops can handle the Octavia. The rest (other parts) should be the same as FSI version where most things has been covered by Kenso.

At glenmarie, did they say if/when they're bringing in the Octavia Mk3 ??
Did they gave you a good offer? If so, i say grab it.
Btw, saw a black VRS waiting to be serviced the other day. Nice. Couldn't find the owner though.

That's because everywhere in the world, Skoda is sold cheaper than VW. Over here due to CKD, VGM has managed to significantly reduce the price of some of its models .... makes no sense to sell an Octy higher than a Jetta, no?

:smile_tongue:Hi Guys,

I do not own a Skoda but I did rode on it for 3 week plus during my stint in Europe. The Skoda (Diesel) I sat in was a Superb, it won over Mercy, Beemer and even Volky. The seat is spacious, suspension is good, powerful, nice interior and solid smile_approve.gif . The only things the lose out is the outlook a bit old fashion..

In Europe Skoda consider the cheapest range follow by Volky. The only problems in Malaysia was this car prices is depreciating like a waterfall. Spare parts is easily find because it same with Volky and Audi since they are under the same umbrella. But the body part you might need some patient to find be it new or used.

Hope this sharing will help.

Cheers
