Hi there,
My daily ride is a waja 1.8.
In case u did not know, its powered by renault f4p engine and renauld dpo gb.
Mileage is 150k km now and i am still loving it.
Why?
I manage to find the capable people to maintain it,simple as that.
Costly?
Nope, for the same part, its on par with the jap.
So,i suggest u find someone whom can solve yr problem.or,share it here.
Fyi an engine transplant might brings up other problem.
Yr car might not be able to be diagnose with a computer scanner as most os the time, wiring is incomplete.

If u insist, then there are some savvy out there with starlet turbo engine but its a downgrade to me.
Old tech put in to replace new tech.
Fyi the stock engine can be bot and with low boost can achieve 140hp++.
Also, i only heard of this but never even seen pic of it.
D4ft engine from a renault clio.
Now,i know u r worried with the reliability.
The clio wont be famous if it kept breaking down rite?

Conversion workmanship is pretty important, probably about RM2,000.00 jus for labour alone. However, the starlet engine is close to bulletproof. Having new tech does not mean it's problem free. What tech's in the savvy's engine btw?

Savvy new tech .. high end lor ... everything is sensor ... sometime this light up .. sometime that light up ....
Just recently, "chk engine" wif "ABS" light up ... but now only "chk engine" light up ..
After send to service center .. clean ... it off ... later light up again .. .. look like have to change sensor ..cost RM700-800/-
Sometime I really really think ..is it our P1 serv center not capable?? or too many car they just simply solve it????
Why others car no need in & out, in & out so many times to Serv center .. but P1 need??

what have i seen this year
Savvy with starlet turbo engine
Savvy with renault clio engine and triptonic system that diffrent from ours - heard the owner convert in thailand
savvy with toyota engine.. dunno what the model, looks like myvi engine.
savvy AMT with preve steering and shift pedal. the other side to climb gear, the other pedal used to drop gear.
last time there is a concern of chassis mounting if its to mate with starlet engine or other. apparently shop do custom mounting & brackets at the engine end only so it wont kacau the chassis side. and it fitted well into the chassis, therefore, Puspakom inspection all cleared.
this year i saw numerous of savvy being brought back to live with diff engine and extreme modifications. kudos to those owner and i believed most of them from savoc.
