Nissan Light Foot results are out for the Almera

"Following the half day affair, a total of 6 winners were selected, all based on the highest kilometre per litre (km/l) reading achieved. First place went to Chen Khong Lung and Lai Lih Mey with a score of 27.2km/l while second place went to Rebecca Tan Cheng Ann and Lee Beng Tan for scoring 22.8km/l. Muhammad Izzuddin Ilias and Mohd Faisal Kamarudin finished in the final podium position with 22.4km/l.

There was also a media category, won by Khong Yin Swan and Ian Khong with a figure of 33.6km/l, the highest through out the event for the Nissan Almera. Durraini Sharom and Albakry Salehuddin settled with 32.6km/l to finish second while third place went to Chin Shong Chian and Sean Chua with their 23.5km/l reading."

Although not as far fetch as the previous 50+ km/l, a 33km/l must once again be close to a "world record" for a non-hybrid or non-diesel category. Will Nissan use this for future advertisements - 33km/l or 3L per 100 km?

Of course, all these Light Foot are done under conditions that are not replicable or even dangerous for real or normal driving conditions. I can understand with 'folder wing mirrors" but did the contest ban 'coasting' ie, switching off the engine when going downhill to save fuel.

Waiting for Gunner to comment and of course, Jay to rebut.

Another false claim to gain sales unethical way. First of all, check these:
- Engine is single VVT
- 4AT not ideal for cruising
- Highway cruising at constant 90km/h returns only 14.9km/L
- Best speed to cruise with that weak engine & 4AT is 75-80km/h engaging 4th gear
- idling use more fuel than cruising, if they were to crawl or not using 4th gear, even more impossible to get better FC
- Dump spare tyre, seats, baggage, and everything inside could help but not to the extent of having 30km/L as they don't reduce that much weight after all.

Should really thank the customised fuel tank designed to cheat fuel pump nozzle. To prevent obvious difference on the fuel tank, the size on the outside remains unchanged.

None of the participants driving till empty, all they did was filled up full tank and drive to fuel station near the hotel, pump till nozzle said full and record amount of fuel spent. The magic works is the customised fuel tank cheated the fuel pump nozzle said Full by pumping little fuel recording way more than 20km/L easily. In the tank itself, they all used more fuel than reported, cruising at 78-80km/h could get them 16km/L-17km/L to max never achievable 20km/L by dumping spare tyre, baggage, seats, etc.

If they were to drive till empty, and without enlarging the fuel tank, they will never get that claimed exaggerated figure at all.

Think safe to assume most of the cars will pump the tyres to say almost 40 psi to make the car 'lighter'?

Another false claim to gain sales unethical way. First of all, check these: (Better than Hwontai KIA)
- Engine is single VVT (Same as Vios & Rio)

- 4AT not ideal for cruising (Same like Vios & Rio)

- Highway cruising at constant 90km/h returns only 14.9km/L (Better than Vios & Rio)

- Best speed to cruise with that weak engine & 4AT is 75-80km/h engaging 4th gear (that the speed every body is cruising unless u want a AES ticket)

- idling use more fuel than cruising, if they were to crawl or not using 4th gear, even more impossible to get better FC (There's 2 categories 5 MT & 4AT)

- Dump spare tyre, seats, baggage, and everything inside could help but not to the extent of having 30km/L as they don't reduce that much weight after all. (Yes it would help, but if u have Jayraptor in the car who can't fit in Slyphy back seat then not much help)

Should really thank the customised fuel tank designed to cheat fuel pump nozzle. To prevent obvious difference on the fuel tank, the size on the outside remains unchanged. (No actually they use nuclear reactor inside their engine)

It's a competition, do u think u can finish 100M run 9.58 sec like Usain Bolt or Swim faster than Michael Phelps ? or eat as much hotdog as Joey Chesnut ? Laoya fellow like u sure cannot achieve 30+km/ltr lah, u lack of bek075.gif remember ? 1237.gif

There is no customized tank there. Nissan sponsored the participants with liquid nitro instead of petrol. smile_tongue.gif You are really a joke!!!! Anyway, it brightens my day smile_big.gif

Jay rape tor you really a small brain short sided mutant.. Try not to use mathematic and your stupid assumption. There are may ways to safe petrol in a contest, anyway this is only a contest and if you dare to apply the way they used for you may also can claim the same results using your Korea any model.. get your boss to organize one or your drive your forte using below method if you dare.

1. Switch off engine in front of traffic light.
2. put to 'N" when going down hill
3. Tyre air pressure > 50% or normal allowing weight
4. Remove spare tyre
5. drive up to certain speed in slow lane and put to 'N' for a while and put back to "D" and slowly accelerate and repeat
6. don't switch on air-cond
7. And so on...

you dare try it until empty tank and for sure you will get more or less same claims.. smile_tongue.gif

You do that some of the method you introduced here will end up eating more fuel.

1. Switch off engine in front of traffic light.
>> Switch off and turn on engine again at traffic light that has short waiting time ends up using more fuel. If you don't know, every time you crankstart the engine, it actually uses more fuel with some wasted in the start engine process. Mind you, hybrid or cars with auto on-off engine, they have special mechanism that put the engine into half idle rather than completely died down.

2. put to 'N" when going down hill
>> The route your CRA2Y lightfoot took does not have much hilly road.

3. Tyre air pressure > 50% or normal allowing weight
4. Remove spare tyre
5. drive up to certain speed in slow lane and put to 'N' for a while and put back to "D" and slowly accelerate and repeat
6. don't switch on air-cond
>> These won't save you much fuel after all. Only by mere percent and if give you max 10% (1.49km/L) to already too much for real 20%(2.98km/L), Almera highway FC at 14.9km/L + 10% or 20% = 16.39km/L or 17.88km/L. You want 20km/L is almost impossible.

7. And so on...
>> With custom 2 compartment inside fuel tank. YES, YOU CAN with custom fuel tank. 33km/L you go at the fuel pump nozzle record.
