Ok guys...managed to spend a bit more time checking out the Kuga today, as I had dinner there with my family.

One thing which I found quite DISAPPOINTING are the front DRIVER and PASSENGER seats. They are very narrow in my opinion. To make it worst, they are bucket shaped seats. So if you have a wide mid-frame you will be nudged quite badly. And to confirm my suspicion, as I felt really odd when I sat in it for almost 4 minutes, I took a piece of paper to measure the inner width between the 'bucket folds' at mid height of the seat. I then walked over to the FORD FOCUS SPORT and repeated the measurement. To my amazement, the seats on Ford Focus were wider!

I can't quite understand about the small seats issue too.

Shouldn't Ford cars which are designed for European/US market have bigger seats to accommodate the "Europeans/ Americans" whom have bigger body size than average Asians?
Puzzling?

Read somewhere that these units are Spain assembled.

Maybe because the European economy in trouble, so they expect everyone to be thinner due to cost savings measures smile.gif

Whereas the Asian car market seems to be doing better than Europe, especially China smile.gif So Asians should be more well fed....

My wife and i have been looking for a replacement for our 2009 focus sport for quite a while, we looked at new focus, XV, CX5, etc. Got very excited when CKD CX5 pricing anounced, but i knew Ford sure lower price to try to stay competitive, sure enuff 155k at launch last weekend.

tested the car, and didnt plan to book, but my wife had big smile on her face after the test drive, so we made a rm500 refundable deposit for black unit (2 months waiting list. Ford has only 1k units for 2013, already 400 sold since the prelaunch according to my source in sime darby HQ)

Why did i pick the Kuga over the cheaper CX5?
- interior, the moment i sat in the Kuga, it felt premium, i love the leather combo, i love the dash, the steering feels good compared to CX5/tucson etc.
- i dont need the tom tom navi in CX5, from everyone i know, ppl tell me tomtom is crap, i rather have the extra knee airbag that comes with the Kuga
- space, it felt very tight in the rear seat of the CX5, in fact, my wife commented that her current focus felt more spacious
- power, the kuga is a heavy vehicle, but at low revs, the turbo spools up fast, making it feel alot more "spritely" to drive then the CX5, my wife commented that it felt "light" like her old swift

anyway, we were there about 40min, saw FOUR other bookings....yes the Kuga is expensive, yes the specs are not that great like the koreans, but it will attract ppl like me who want to be diffrent abit, refuse to buy a CRV etc

btw off topic, my almost new ford focus sport 2.0is availble for sale now smile.gif

100% serviced at ford, just completed major service, new pads, wipers, sparkplugs, tires.

Registered in 2010, 46k km mileage. Asking for rm64k.

Very quiet interior because they have 2 layers of door seal on doors.

Damn the black looks good!

Went to test drive it the other day....nice car. Although I found the 1.6 turbo and traditional auto gearbox combination a bit too soft, it was a still a very good drive.
