my car's rims that is. kekeke

The rims gets dirty very quickly.

Since dish washing liquid can clean grease and is real cheap, i think why not use it for rims.

Well....it is *quite* similar (though not the same) to all purpose cleaner or degreaser....

Comes to think of it, the paint on wheels are also *quite* similar (though not the same smile_cool.gif ) with the paint on car body also......

Get where I'm going....??

To reduce costs why not use cheaper all purpose cleaners? IMHO it be better than dishwasher. Am using osren and now just switch to procrystal and that also i dilute. Dishwash i use to wash my foam pads and mf towels.

It's most probably OK to use dish washing liquid on the rims but there's always a risk of something unexpected when we use products not intended on cars, such as the dish washing liquid "drying out" the tires.

For me, I use cheaper car shampoo just for washing the tires, rims, and wheel wells.

All purpose cleaner won't dry out the tyres?

How about those spray on rim cleaners?

All purpose cleaner on tyres or wheels won't dry out and stain if you rinse while its still wet. Just don't let it sit til it dries or you might have adverse effects.

Have yet to try out spray on rim cleaners but should work as its suppose to do. Just bear in mind some are acidic so need to be cautious when buying. After your rims are cleaned to your satisfaction, put on a sealant or protection and subsequently cleanings will just be a breeze. Car wash shampoo will also do fine, thats what I do too. Just dilute some shampoo in a spray bottle, spray on rims and agitate with a soft paintbrush.

Whatever cleaners, shampoo, washing liquid, you need to rinse them off. Just whether it is strong enough to cause paint damage in the long run.... smile_wink.gif

If they dry out your tyres....you'd know that you haven't rinsed enough. Some APC/cleaner are easier to rinse than others...
