Oh i see smile_thumbup.gif . May I asked why you sold it off? How was the parts availability?

I sold it off because I was sick of the poor service extended by the then distributor Quasar Carriage. Parts were in stock. I just didn't like how the service manager kept pushing things around.

Their HQ in glenmarie is still running. I went there a couple of times this past week. Currently, they're only selling Octavia VRS & the Superb. The Octavia VRS (maybe 2011/2012 showroom car) is currently on offer for RM130k (originally 190k i guess). I saw many Skodas being sent for service, Fabias/Octavias/Superbs. I was attended by a mechanic and he said they allow us to bring our own (cheaper OEM) parts from outside. You can buy (wear & tear) parts from a Audi/VW/Skoda parts shop in Jalan Ipoh. Some Audi/VW Specialist shop also have parts and can service Skodas. I know one in PJ and another at Balakong.

Oh, there's one interesting rumour. The Skoda SA told me that DRB is currently on talks with Berjaya to buy off Skoda.

boss may i know what is the shop name for audi/vw specialist in Pj and Balakong? need to record a few specialist shop location.

thanks

@alphawolf: Try to buy from direct owners. They're more likely to be enthusiast themselves and should take good care of their car. I called this seller below. Unfortunately, it was sold last week. He said around 18 potential buyers called. I guess there are many interested party but a well taken care unit is hard to come by.

@chuakz: Yeah, if it goes thru, DRB can use their existing VW SC hence more widespread aftersales support for Skoda cars.

I called the same guy too last week ! smile_tongue.gif it's a shame his car has been sold...it looks to be in fantastic condition. Seems like many people is looking for a solid, well-engineered made-in-czech republic VW...for less than RM25,000-00, I am not surprised.

It's hard to locate Skoda enthusiasts as they don't have their own "fan page"...

I went to look at these 2 Fabias:

http://www.mudah.my/...EC-20009154.htm

http://www.mudah.my/...OF-20203330.htm

... horrifying condition they are in..I would not buy even if they are selling it RM15,000-00. Salesman don't even know Skoda is part of VW, and that it's basically a Polo underneath..

Last yr i went to see a fabia combi at serdand dealer and the condition is horrible too. With no service record and owner from seremban. The front door winding problem and they dont know how to take down the door panel and broke some part inside. When inspect the engine, found wiring tangle at battery compartment. The salesman said they have tried to repair the car as the battery always empty and even went to singapore to order a fuel pump. I asked them why dont they just get the part or send the car to service center at glemarie. The salesman stare at me ..... Seem they dont know there is a skoda service center in klang valley. Strait away i went home.
