Hi dear forumers,

Around 6 months ago, I sent my car to Proton Service Centre due to some water leaking on the rear left side of my car when after a rainy day or car washing. The technician said because of an unproper of sealing somewhere inside the door and cause the problem. They sealed it and of cause the problem is fixed, but it's just last for a few months.

Last 2 weeks, I sent my car again to the same Proton Service Centre due to the same problem. The technician said because of the poor workmanship, the sealing was peeling off. So the problem comes again. They have sealed it back properly. Up to today, my car still no 'flooding' after rain...

However, does it because of poor design or it's just a 'special' case to me. I have no idea...
Does anyone of you face this problem before?

Proton is of no help in this.... because they have no idea and basically they are the same as me. So what the heck, i better find solutions by myself rather than spending so much time in and out of Proton all the time with each time needing to leave it there whole day.

Have you modified your front speakers before? Because I know that a poor workmanship of front door side speaker installation may cause the water leak also. Apply some sealant (black colour one) surrounding your front speakers or install a speaker water proofing cover may help lah...

My rear left side will see some water stains on the carpet after driving in the heavy rain.

Owning the persona since 2009 my personal experience is this.

Regardless of if you have replaced or modded the front speakers or not. Check this FIRST.

1. Take off the door panel
2. Hold the water hose and flush it around the window panel outside. You will hear and see water going through the the insides of the door which is normal.
3. Take a very close look or observe if there is any leaks coming out from the plastic sheets, especially at the glued areas around the door. It should not leak at all.
4. Check for leaks around the speakers too.
5. All these checks are with hosed water constantly flowing. Try moving the hose around the window to simulate the possible water flows during heavy rain and etc.
6. If found, replace the plastic sheet or re-glue the edges.
7. I forgot, buy windscreen sealant (very tacky rubber tape) to seal. Around Rm14 per box and no, they don't sell in small amounts.

I have put my car for two days in proton and they took off a lot of my panels, seats and carpet and dashboard parts and still unsolved. Idiots. End up i solved it myself at home.
