Hello all,
I have a budget of 45k for a used SUV. I know they are two different types but I'm not particular as we are a family of 4. I already have an Escape and this will be our second car. I'd love to get another Escape but feel something different would be better.
Which one of these would you recommend? Are there any X-trail or Rexton drivers here? Is it true that diesel engines need a overhaul sooner than petrol cars? How about reliability, handling and parts?
There are 2004-2005 models available for 43-45k for both right now.
Thanks.
RR

I thought about buying a Rexton a few years ago. They are pretty cheap second hand. When I asked around everyone said that they are terrible vehicles and that I should stay well clear.
I'm not sure how the X-Trail is.

Standard Rexton is very bouncy and from what an owner friend told me the brakes are spongy after a while.
cheers

test drive both and decide, and if you like the x-trail take the 2.5

Check out this video on YouTube:
5 vs 7 seater
na 2.0/2.5 petrol vs common rail turbo diesel
any heavy suv will have body roll
but we rexton owner have a club.
those 2 videos are mine.
with some tweek.
still getting 7.5 litre per 100 km on highway
