Relax....??? Tak boleh tahan liow.

PROTON Service centre selling also Platinium brand oil, dont know what brand of oil, when ask the service advisor what API service classification, they look blanked, it seems they only know Minyak biasa, Minyak semi syn and sintetik.

Also pushing magnetc oil filter trap, a totally unnecessary gadget. Those service advisors are really well trained in pushing sales except in reading and understanding the recommended service manual!

Their 10 year power window garrantee, only if you service your PROTON in the service centers all the way for 10 years.
At the rate they charge for servicing, after you service a few times can afford to buy a new power window unit already.

Very good comment, 100% agree..& one more standard answer " servis 10k for fully sintetik oil" when ask to show what page in the servis booklet mention like that, they cannot answer..

After so many years of (forced) loyalty to PROTON they do this to me.

Anyway, they still make crap cars, the SAGA I bought last year have the accelerator pedal rubber piece worn down to metal after 9 months with less than 15 k km, when ask about warranty, they say wear and tear part no warranty pulak.
Complaint about the bad window tinting, they say sikit saja tak apa lah.
The only think they know is, sudah sampai masa tukar spark plug! air filter! coolant! minyak cvt!

They actually changed my cvt oil pump wittout informing me officially to cover up a recall situation!

With the current sales promotion of free service for 3 years, suddenly the service centers are now sticking to the 10K KM service interval, regardless of what oil is being used.

Sorry guys, all you PROTON owners has been conned for the last 30 years, paying double for your car service.

It speaks so much for PROTON being an irresponsible car company.

And for PROTON supporting local industries?

My foot, check inside your bonnet and you will find the battery labeled "Proudly made in the Philippines'.

CVT Oil filter - Molded into the plastic part "Made in China"

Today saw PROTON cars being exhibited in Giant Hypermarket, just to be nasty I ask the sales guy about the 3 years free service offer.
With that he started his sales talk, got him going for a long time and than I ask him in front of a crowd why was it that when
we have to pay for the service it is at 5 k km interval?

He just laugh......got him!

Hi everyone...

The campro engine uses hydraulic tappet system to lift all 16 valves. Hydraulic tappet is a direct tappet type lifter. So it is steel to steel contact between the cam shaft & the tappet lifter mechanism. So if you're using 5W 30 oil (mineral oil), i think the interval is 5000KM, for 10w 40 oil can go 7000KM. My 11 years old waja (4G18 engine) uses 10w 40 oil, can go up to 10,000 KM interval because the engine is a roller tappet type valve lifting mechanism. It has roller bearings contact with cam lobes to lift the valves... so less friction.

Campro engine is good actually, but the achilles heel is the friction between the valve's tappet & the cam lobes... Engine oil nowdays have less zinc in it, so more damaging to this type of engine. I wonder why Proton did not develop roller tappet mechanism for campro? Just like Mitsubishi did successfully with their MiVEC technology.

Just my 2 cents...

normal campro & CPS campro will be no more produced soon. even there is a tremendous improvement in the current CFE engine. as we heard in the media.. the new engine will be totally different from what we are having now. hmmm

Is the CFE engine use same direct tappet like CPS or normal campro?... i have no clue about this, but suspect the same. Anyone?
