Hi Guys,

My sis just bought a new myvi in oct'12 and realized that the car does not autolock when the brake is pressed/ handbrake is released. Hers is a 1.3 Sxi.

My friend also drives the same model, but bought in Dec'11, has the autolock function, she didn't add on additional functions frm an accessory shop.

I checked with perodua, they said all new myvi's does not have this function??? Then why the 2011 model have and not the 2012? When they are the same Sxi models?

Anyone can advice. Thank you

S40, weird... because perodua said this function does not come with the new Myvi??? I'll check with another SC or call the perodua hotline for clarification! Found it weird, as when you turn off the ignition, the door unlocks, but it does not lock by itself???

Thanks dude!

triketra84,
do you means when you stepped on the brake, all the door will locked automatically?
If Yes, those features are standard for all Myvi since their 1st batch production.

The Myvi does come with a Central Locking system. However, the later production (after July 2012) of Myvi or Produa cars have had their drive-off Auto Lock feature removed. The drive-off Auto Lock feature was banned by the motor insurance companies. It seems that the drive-off Auto Lock feature locks the driver/occupants in the car when in situations of severe accidents making the early rescue near impossible without trained and equipped personnel like Bomba, hence, becoming a safety issue.

Believe the Honda Insights also had the feature removed, according to the grapevine as of the later months of 2012 CKD car production will no longer carry this feature.

Too bad, they should actually give car owners the option of self enabling or disabling the feature.......Insurance Companies are powerful in that respect. smile_sad.gif

I bought mine end June 2012 myvi SE 1.5 auto in which it does not come with auto-lock as well.. Believed what larthui said is true though.. Well, any idea how much it costs to enable this feature through 3rd party accessories shop?
