You are getting 12km/L even in city stop-and-go traffic, and this is really amazing for 520d. How many forward speed do you have in gearbox?
And what is the max gear ratio ; final drive ratio ; and your driving-tyre size ? I can calculate your RPM at any speed if you do not mind providing these numbers. Once again, I have never underlooked diesel power at all and the low end torque which I am often amazed by the long-haul express bus driver driving with Scania diesel engine, 8-speed automatic gearbox is simply too fun to enjoy. 110km/h at only 1700 RPM....

Bro, I am driving a 320d and not a 520d. Not sure about my max gear ratio or final drive ratio but my tire sizes are 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear with 6 forward speed. I am sure most of us here are already thinking or considering to move to diesel but sadly the mast majority still thinks of diesel as an inferior fuel. Hence the never ending challenge we diesel warriors face.
