Bring your existing original schedule, even if it is from different insurer.
I'm not sure if need to bring along car-reg card, but bring it, just in case.
Also, transfer NCD, some may need a transfer-letter from the previous insurer.

I just went to renew my insurance at Tokio Marine Melaka branch.

So sad they said if I were to change from agency to direct, there will be a loading of 10%. So my 10% discount does offset, but if I continue with the agent there it will be the same.

Disappointed!

I say BS, seems like the direct is trying to protect the agent, rather than benefit the customers directly.

If me, I'll change to other insurers.

Yeah I think that's the way they try to protect the agent....

My car is on the 9th year... it seems changing insurance at this time may not be a good idea....

But according to the clerk she said everywhere you go.. when you change to direct even after your car is >3 years old. They will direct loading you too!...

Will but only start on the 11th year onwards.

Right now my car is on the 9th year... and direct with agent (withTokio Marine bout 4-5 years), then I can just renew without any extra charges.

Weird really....

I think after 10 years got 10% loading. I did not have loading last time because my cousin works there, but now seems cannot pull strings already.... smile_blackeye.gif

BS again. Loading is depends on your car and certain issues.

Cars within high stolen list will have loading such as 4WD pickup trucks.

If you every year also accident and claim 9 9, sure will have loading as well.

Other than that, no such thing as >3 years old loading. My 9+ years old car never have any loading before.

10 years old car , try maintain the coverage above 10-12k with 1st party. No loading in cases I've seen.
No need to buy the additional PA also.
If coverage below 10k, insurers will try to be funny, and you can report to BNM.
