Manufacturer suggested to change oil every 5KM per OCI has valid reason.
Remember - This frequent service will bring them revenue in order to maintain their 4-5 Million Dollar 3S centres. Almost oil supplier to them using lower spec oil but owner who is obsessed with warranty be prepared to pay high premium for each service.
For owner who does <5,000km per annum is suggested to change oil every 6 months. It is not worth the saving in the long run.
Some suggest every 3 months, not 6 months.....
But some 10k km, and refuse to change for my colleague who insists to do it at every 5k km.......

My older and much trusted Suzuki Erv runs around 5k Kms every 6 months. And I am using Tesco Semi Synthethic oil for it. So I change either 6 - 8 months or wait for it to clock the 5K kms.
Now my family's daily transport is our Saga FLX which hits 10K Kms every 3 months or so. We do bits of outstation once in a while. Last trip was to Hatyai.

Wah! 3 months, 10k km is quite a lot.....so, OCI when? 10k or 5k? If 5k, then every 1 and a half months oil change....
