Dear Friends,
Saturday, I had my car serviced at my regular Volvo workshop - 1996 Volvo 850SE.The above brand engine oil was used (First Lubricants). Was told it is as good as any other brand and cheaper because of bulk purchase.Cost RM90/= for the oil alone. Did a search in the internet today and such a brand doesnt exist. Now I am worried.
Thinking of going to Shell Petrol Station and flushing and changing the engine oil to Shell HELIX HX 7 5W-40 or HELIX HX 7 10W-40.Kindly advise.

i think you are worry too much. Is the bottle mention any other spec such as JAES3000 or any bla bla bla?. What is the engine oil grade? do you feel sluggish during drive the car? is not, just continue use that. I never give a damn on what brand the engine oil as long they have meet all the standard specification. my only worry is whether what written in the label is scam or not.
The only important part in engine oil is the additive they put together with raw oil. This additive will make the engine grade, change some of the oil property and also prevent dirt from floating in engine.
