Hi, any Isuzu D-Max owners here???

I went to Isuzu Service Center at Kelana Jaya last Wednesday. They got 3 type of engine oil: 1) Petronas Syntium 1000, 2) Petronas Syntium 800 and 3) Petronas Urania Supremo CJ-4.

Petronas Syntium 1000= Fully Synthetic 15W50, Grade API SM/CF

Petronas Syntium 800= Semi Synthetic 10W40, Grade API SM/CF

Petronas Urania Supremo CJ-4= 15W40, Grade CJ-4/SM

Out of the 3, I prefer Petronas Urania Supremo CJ-4, which has highest grade of API CJ-4 for the diesel engine. However, I saw from the internet such that CJ-4 is not good for diesel with high sulfur (in Malaysia is just Euro 2). So, if I use the CJ-4 and I change the engine oil every 5000km will it cause any problem to the engine???

For the Petronas Syntium engine oils, are them designed to be used in diesel car also???

Check if any of those got JASO rating. I will go with one that does.

I prefers to use my head than follow the crowd. After all, it is my money and not theirs.

Hi all D-Max users,

Another question here. Do you all change the engine oil after the first 1000km?

Inside the manual is every 5000km, didn't mention that the engine oil need to be replaced after 1000km.

But for cars like proton and perodua, the first 1000km should change engine oil.

I agree with you. I am also confused since the salesmen at the center where I got my Dmax says to have the first oil change at 1000km. But when I did that, the service people is adamant that the first service should be at 5000km according to the manual. owners of other pick-ups like toyota have also recommended to me to have the first oil change at 1000km.

Wiring drop? That can be easily fixed by accessory shop.

I see the new DMax is about to launch. That should make things interesting in the pick up market.

yuhuuu...Hi guys......
Just owned a Dmax Vcross 3.0 (auto) 2 months ago and Im very well happy with it. Just want to confirm if this is a normal thing for autos truck.....When going downhill, as I step on the brakes a few times and release, the engine seems to rev down a bit, is this normal?.....thanks
