Guys,

Was looking for a new set of tyres for my Rondo. The earlier ones were Falken 912s but only lasted me 35ks. Anyone has anything good to recommend for low noise and a little more durability?

Here are the choices that i have been offered by the tyre shop :-

1.) Yokohama aspect DB (japan) :- RM480 per piece 215/55R17 (my current size)
2.) Silverstone Atlantis V7 (malaysia) :- RM320 per piece 215/55R17
3.) Yokohama A Drive (philippines) :- RM380 per piece 215/55R17 (but no stock)
4.) Nexen N6000 (korea) :- RM388 per piece 215/55R17
5.) Nexen N8000 (korea) :- RM430 per piece 225/50R17

Looking very closely at the N8000 heard a lot of good reviews on it. Any recommendations? Trying to keep the price per tyre below RM450.

Hi bro joey,

Have you consider Conti CC5?

Btw after you changed to R17 rims, any effect to your fuel consumption or pick up speed?

Thanks.

Bro Wingman,

I have checked the CC5s but at these size they are around RM500 plus. I am not going to pay RM500 for a malaysian made tyres.
I have an EXS so it came with 16inch rims that are pretty heavy. The 17s that i am on are pretty light. I am sure fuel comsumption is higher but i like the grip and i feel more confident driving the car with the 17s. The ori with NCTs are just plain bad.

Finally went for the Yokohama C Drive 2. RM400 per piece at my regular place 225/50R17 size. I believe it is less grippy than the Falken ZE-912s but it is suppose to be a green tyre so should be normal. Anyway will let in run in for a while and report back here.

Tyre noise is maybe a little less..

Finally managed to change my Rondo EX 15" rims to used Forte 17" rims. It does give my Ex a more modern look smile.gif

Hi bro cpmboy,

I got the full body kit when I bought the Rondo from Naza last. Can't remember the actual price. It should be around RM2-3k++. You can check with Naza Galaxy. The important thing is to match the body kit color with the original body color.
