Most cars have a forward braking bias - as much as 70% of the braking effort is on the front wheels and only 30% is applied on the rear brakes. Thus, even if you improve the rear brakes, the improvement will be miniscule and you may not notice much difference.

When you change the rear drums of a low end car like the Saga there are some other things you need to consider too. E.g. what about the handbrake that acts on rear drums? What about brake balance adjustments and calibrations? What about JPJ approvals? etc

While it is nice to have, the cost may be too high to perform such mods.
Regards,
Flee

Well, the best and easiest conversion is when similar car model have and just transfer them over, but if not then got to use other car make, but have to do extensive modification. Have seen Myvi using Civic brakes or something like that. Cost is like RM1k plus to 2k.
For handbrakes, well the whole conversion will have to include that.

Quite costly for a potong item from Eterna - so why not buy the Perdana's rear disc subassembly new, if u are serious?

As I have said before, you may not notice the improved braking that much as most of the braking is done at the front.

proton has issue on rear drum, piston occasionally or easily jammed. so for me changing to disc will eliminate this problem.
