here is the story 6months ago....

i walked into tyre/rim shop and decided to choose this rims..it turn out that the offset not really suits my car because it has male-female offset design (which is different offset for front and rear)....

but i insist to use that rim....so as the caliper scrapping the wheel...i opted to add 2pcs wheel spacer (10mm+7mm thickness) and it solves the problem...my car running good.....

but last week as prior to re-adjust my handbrake i found out that one of my rear caliper pin decided to play dead with rust...so that was the cause of my half-functioning handbrake....so i service it and manage to make it work again for good....but damage have been done...since the floating pin have stuck for a while...it also eat my brakepad with large apetite for good....it is already dark and no replacement parts available.....i put everything back together so the next morning i bought new brakepads along with a few items needed for my car service which is due already....

1)castrol 20-50 engine oil
2)proton original oil filter element
3)proton original atf sp3
4)air filter
5)bendix metal king general CT rear brake pads....

total cost rm175....

since this thread about my rear brake let me continue on this...

so as prior to the fitting, everything is normal..pad fitted properly and without problems....but then....catasthropic thing happens when i try to fit my wheel back...the wheel stuck! and me not even close to tighten my wheel nut....

the caliper becomes too close to the wheel out of the comfort zone and decide and stuck with the wheel....i cant add more spacer because the hub stud already at the limit of allowable spacer....

so i took out my grinder and do some marking of the excess caliper material that stuck...and grind it away.....20minutes later wallah~ fit perfectly...and bonus point when now i can do handbrake turn which previously impossible even on the sand...

i grind at an angle...more like a chamfering job..so it just around 10mm from the edge to the caliper main body...

Must use good ones and not too thick. Best is to have center hub also.... smile_tongue.gif
