Since last week, I've this problem whenever I ignite my engine, every morning or stop engine for 1 hour onward, some hiccups, like engine going to die off, about 5 seconds then everything back to normal. Also from Moving to Idle, eg at traffic light, turn red, reduce speed and stop, the engine shaking, jerking for about 3 to 5 seconds then OK, this one no always, may be 3 times out of 10. Any idea what when wrong?

Bro, Clean your Throttle body. Mine Gamma CVVT which also share the same engine configuration with Theta CVVT Engine also happens once like this, i open and clean the throttle body, everything back to normal.

I had this problem as well just before I sold my car but it happened only twice and I couldn't replicate the problem so I left it as that. If I kept the car, I would look at the throttle body. I thought it could have been the fuel pump starting to fail but I confirmed that the fuel pump was working fine.

I did use the Carb cleaner to clean the Throttle body include with the Idle Valve which also attach to throttle body.

The Symptom is like Engine die of in D or R mode, When Air Cond Compressor Kick on, the RPM will drop to very low like 300rpm. After cleaning, Everything back to normal. My Mileage nw is almost 95k.

Sugen,

I do not have the problem of the engine going to die but I have the same jerk occassionally. For the first problem it maybe the throttle body. But for the jerk I do not think its the throttle body. If U notice before it jerks the engine died, since the car is still moving and the gear is still engage the engine jerk and restart. Like somebody is pushing the car. I suspect a faulty crank sensor.

My Rondo is 2008 model and only clock 50,000km.

have u change the petrol filter since it is already 120k KM?? If the petrol filter is clog.. then, the flow of petrol is affected.. The petrol filter is located underneath the 3rd row seat..
