if you want to retain your NCD(55%), then it worth to buy, but if your NCD is 0% then dont need too la .. since you can claim from your insurance. and your NCD for next year will stay at 0% which you're already at.. hehhehee

If paying high premium, it is worth it, because the first NCD is 25%, right?

NCD and premium for windscreen are 2 different things. Meaning if you claim for your windscreen it does not affect your NCD... most klang valley highways are breeding place for stones so without one will cost you more. how much is tinting alone?

Nowadays heard that the windscreen claim for some Insurance company more stringent. Mus have police report or sighted by them or something....maybe too many claims or hanky panky going on..... smile_tongue.gif

it depends on claim history and insurance company. I smell *urNIA trying to outsmart owner again? Never once the cars I own never have the windscreen NOT replaced maybe because of the highway I have to travel.

The standard procedure does not require police report. Option is to go panel workshop or non-panel, but must follow procedure.

Circle the portion with white-liquid-paper if it is small spot.
Take full pic from front including license plate (assume front broken).
Take another pic of the windscreen close up of the broken/chip part.
Take pic of chassis number and write down also.

Start replace.

After finish, take pic from front with license plate again.

If panel workshop, sign all the forms and they'll settle everything. No need pay single-cent if enough coverage.
If non-panel, you pay first. Then you prepare and submit all docs to insurance, wait few weeks/months for payment.

Wait 1 week for the windscreen to settle down first. Some may crack due to workmanship issue.

Then go tinting.

Depends on insurance company. In the past no need. I claim before, even non panel workshop, but some members mention some insurers now want this and that..... smile_blackeye.gif

err... in the past no need what ?

>10-20 years ago, a police report is needed to claim windscreen.
After that, it was not needed until now.
