Share my experience on my 10 years old Nissan Sentra N16.
Yesterday finally found the fuel filter have to change in every 40k mileage clocks.
For the FC will improved a lots.

Did you guy will notice about the filter inside will collected how much dirty & dark yellow fuel like those water filter for home.

Due to my kenari last time clocks around 150k mileage never change before and felt the car really no power and accelerate not as smooth, even auto gearshift.

Back to topic, for my Sentra N16 now is clocks 160k mileage now and changed the fuel filter and felt the car really smooth engine running with lighter to accelerate and gearshift also won't feel jerk when change from D1 to D2 as a something pulling in High RPM.

So I would recommended you guys changed for every 40k km in interval service maintenance at outside workshop.
If follow by booklet in SC, I think should not be a problem.

Below photos shown the actual result.

Highly recommended to changed on every 40k km the cost at Rm60 & labour Rm43

Kimsim,

Thanks for your input regarding fuel strainer replacement as I am getting <400km per tankful currently.
Previously 420 to 430 km. It's about time to replace it after 120kkm.
How's your head-lights after 10 yrs. Is it turning yellowish? I bought a set of solution to try out but didn't improve much.
Saw in accessories shop there is a type of protective plastic tint for the lights costing RM120 per set.
Sounds expensive. What do you guys think?

Regarding that fuel filter after replacement and improve a lot more.
Last time full tank drop into 1/2 bar clocks on 40-45km only.
Now seem like already drove this morning is clocks at 50-55km but still stick on 1/8 bar and drop 20% of 1 bar only.

Power wise is increase very much, like bought new car now.

Due to that headlamp turning into yellow. Actually is doest help much for headlamp cleaner solution.
Unless you using very fine Sand paper to polishing and put that Colgate for keep polishing.

After drive home and used cloth wet with water and dry it to mop over.
Because every ride on outside envelopment.
Much dirty, such as lorry exhaust in dark or some buses or motorbike or after rain.

After keep mop over by every 3 days of the headlamp will remain as clear like cristal clear.

HI Sifu,

My N16 2002 having below issue,

i) while driving sometimes the gear doesn't shift up at all
ii) while driving suddenly the transmission moves to idle position. i.e. something like driving in neutral gear.
iii) it only happens at times not always.
Iv)engine sound seem going loud as previous.

I asked the TCEAS and they are saying mostly need to change the evolution sensor and it cause RM600++,
and with the checking with all the sensor and cause Rm120++.

If anyone has any experience with this before and what is the real root cause.
I check back the old thread V1. Someone has the same issue, but i do not know the resolution.

Hope all the Nissan folks can give some input here
