Hi all,
I currently own a 1990 tx3. Anyone else tx3 owner here ?
I notice when cruising at 110km/h 5th gear the rpm meter reads 3500, isnt
this a bit too high for a 1.8 gear ratio?
Also the doors cant seem to shut properly, have to use additional strength
to shut them, but when the window or other door is open it is a lot
easier. Strange...

I used to own a 1993 model.
The gearing is short ratioed, and my revs were equally high at 110km'h. I
used to hate it on the long highway trips, but in town, the car is in a
class of its own, becuase the short gearing gave it an incredible pickup
in every gear. It's a blast to drive on the twisties
The doors are probably hard to close coz the panels are loose.
Its still a great car even after all these years. Even after I changed to
a Wira 1.8 DOHC, I still missed the TX3 engine and its drive train which
was more hardcore, revvier and had better urgency. However, the Wira was
much better in terms of handling and highway cruising.

Hi mykel
re the doors, dun think tats becos of loose panels cos its been like that
since day 1
yeah i agree its a good car but could improve on fuel consumption though.
the original suspension which came with the car sucked so i upgraded the
springs to lowered OMPs which improved cornering and stability
i wonder which car would be more powerful, the wira 1.8 or the tx3?

coolskyz,
the door a bit hard to close when the window is winded up. I own a TX3
too. After years the door tense to bb sag down a little bit, just go to
the ketuk mudguard ask them to adjust.
Interms of handling i still think the TX3 can match the wira 1.8.. i have
tested with wira before our engine perfom better...

hello redtx3
u still have yur tx3? i tink the proton 1.8 engine is about same hp as tx3
(around 140hp?) next factor would have to be the weight and of course
engine condition lar
i've been to workshops to ask ab the doors but they also find it amusing
that its easy to close when windows are down, conclusion they gave me :
its to do with the "pressure" inside the car. the doors dont seem to be
misaligned though
btw wat mods haf u done?
