I am asking for latest price from speedworks. If you are interested we can buy together.
*Just received pricing from speedworks, its RM250"

BTW, bro banker, how much was your HU that you previously installed? 7" right?

If it's RM250, please include me as well. Mine is ACV31, I think is shall fit.

Do understand that the ACV is not built for speed, but for comfort..

lemme share what i have done to my ACV41
1. AF Ultimate - KL Auto smile_thumbup.gif
2. Soundproofing, Roar buster, Butt Package - KLAuto smile_thumbup.gif
3. UR Strut Bar - UR
4. VS & Grounding - DIY
5. Alternator Booster - KL Auto
6. K&N Drop in smile_thumbup.gif

Effects:
1&2 will give you a more refined & quieter ride (Personal recommendation.. MUST DO!)
3 will give you better handling going into corners
4 eliminate electric noises and charges dist
5 maximises alternator potential - somehow with this my ACV seems more eager to go on 1st & 2nd gear... maybe psychological??
6 Better response, better torque, better FC (personal recomendation... MUST DO also)

Future wannabes/wishlist:
1. ARB to reduce butt roll....
2. Spark Earth & Ignition Earth (response for low/high end) smile_question.gif
3. Auto-wing mirror fold/unfold (on lock/unlock)
4. TPMS for safety
5. 18" max shoes upgrades (currently on 16") for the cun effect smile_tongue.gif
6. Disc/Disc Brake upgrades, coz with bigger shoes, must also upgrade bigger soles for better stopping power..

word of caution: when your car becomes more responsive, you will find it hard to control your right foot so be prepared to see a spike in your FC......

if you want a ride that is tourquey (low 0-100s), and fuel efficient, go for turbo-Diesel..

Would you mind to share how much is the strut bar and where did you install it?

Bro
Thanks for the info.
Actually I'm quite layman, what type of performance improvement do u feel after changing the air filter? Power improvement? Better fc? Can give your estimation in terms of percentage ?

Bro john,
aiyo, percentage ka.... rafly around 5% qua.... mutually exclusive
so a 5% increase in performance = 5% increase in FC (coz tekan lebeh)
a 5% improvement in FC = 5% reduction in performance (drive like unker)
so depending on what u wanted, good FC drive like unker but don't really enjoy the performance, drive aggresive and enjoy the performance, suffer on FC

Bro manfisto,
after much deliberation and procrastination, decided not to install the 7" HU for the following reasons:
1. SQ not as good as the ORI (seriously)
2. 7" DVD at the dash hard for back seat ppl to see, and I don't see when I drive.... so solve kids problem with ipad2 (cheaper summore)
3. GPS not that sensitive, and I have my trusted garmin... much better..
4. Bluetooth tak boleh pakai 1.... my jabra better....
the cost of the 7" HU last check was 2k+ and the 8" was close to 3k

Bro Justice,
I installed mine at UR Factory in Cheras, costs me around RM200.. but for your ACV31, its a different strut and if I m not wrong, costs slightly (RM10-RM20) cheaper. As for the K&N yours is a different 1 as compared to the ACV4X. make sure you get the right part number. pricing should be the same..

BTW guys, RM250 for the K&N is cheap, as compared to the time i got it 2 years ago... smile_angry.gif

Ohh that sucks. "WAS" thinking to upgrade hahahahahaha
Guess we are considering the same thing before buying this HU.
SQ i'm still ok, with a screen that cant shut my kids up then no point, GPS i'm quite sure its sucky because of its 600MHz processor, and the last one bluetooth also lousy.
Guess i just have to let it go. Actually my phone GPS work much better that the HU, at least its double its speed.
Well then, gonna look at the performance then =)
btw, have you seen this k&n filter in our car before? (K&N Filter)
quite tempting since it increases 14HP hehe and not sure can fit into asia camry or not.

*EDIT*

Bro Justice,
Your K&N filter model no is 33-2260.
Its the same price as mine. RM250.
Since we are buying 2, he is selling cleaning kit for RM50.
interested?

if i m not wrong, what you have there is an open pod aka mushroom head....
damn noisy bugger....
but as i mention before, if performance/hp increase FC will suffer.... due to the right foot syndrome.

yup, for performance, i'm just putting into consideration of exhaust, air intake, and ECU manage.
Definitely understandable that FC up, up and away smile_tongue.gif
Hopefully my right foot syndrome is not that seriously hehe.
But would be a long long time before i would reach there.
Might even get another car just for mod and keep this as a comfort family car.

there's always more for the quest of power...
I m no expert, but as far I was informed, our ACV is not built for power... hence whatever you have done, there is always more to do.... some1 once told me that the ACV engine is not tuned to take alot of load... so becareful if you decide to do chipping or piggyback...
the mods you are considering might rake up to around 4-5k, then you will need to upgrade your shocks, brakes, discs and rubbers (estimate another 4-5k), all in all a total of 10k spent for say ard +15hp... worth it??
hence in conclusion, personally I feel that trying to change a comfort cruiser to a speeder is a waste of hard earn $$ for the increase in HP.. spend $$ to make car go faster, but need to pump more petrol to run it.... either way we loose (not to mention the load on our engine)
that is why my wishlist for my ACV will forever remains nothing but a whishlist... smile_tongue.gif

if I really need the power, will go for the 320d... 380nm torque @1,750-2750rpm vs camry's 190nm @ 4,000rpm! VROOOOOM!!!

p/s: all that i mentioned is based on my findings, if I m wrong, pls sifus here kindly correct me.....

I had a talk with some exhaust specialists and they advised me against modifying anything throughout the Camry's exhaust system, i.e from the exhaust manifold right up to exhaust end pipe.

[1] Don't replace the factory fitted exhaust manifold with either the 4-2-1 or 4-1-1 extractor [header] The exhaust sensor is very sensitive and may cause fatal errors to the ECU

[2] Don't take out the catalytic converter as it will cause a loss of back pressure and will make your car to lose power instead. The designed exhaust flow should be maintained as per designed specifications.

I am not sure whether those modications can actually cause errors....in the absence of a detailed information on Toyota's design ...I won't try to disrupt the status quo.
