Hi Chips

Thanks for the prompt feedback and action by yourself with regards
getting the car fix, Yap I am indeed happy with the service rendered by
Ford SC in PJ in particularly thye supervisor by the name Daian. 2 of
the Ford engineers came to have a look at my problems most of the
problems has been rectified.

However I do need any of the Escape forummers on the below probs:
1. Noticed there is a click sound from the dashboard when engaged on the
horn. Noticed that the source is from the relay under the dashboard.
2. My throttle has been changed however noticed that whenever I tilt the
accelerator upward, the accelerator jammed thus have got to pump it a few
times before it could work as normal.

Was advised that the above prob is normal for all the Escape, care to
enlighten!

Another query Escape service interval is 10k, since use it for town
drive can I service the car at 6k or 8k service interval, been using the
synthetic oil. Ford advise me against the idea of servicing it early as
indicated.

Appreciate if you could advise me.

cicobecky,

good to hear yr problems almost solved!

can't comment on yr prob 1 & 2, as I never got those problems... to be
precise, my Escape never got any problem!

regarding service interval... well Ford SC Labuan offered us 5,000KM
service interval [instead of 10,000KM], well.... the reason quite straight
forward, we are in Labuan, small island!!!! Big Smile My Escape is now only
clocked 11K KM after 14 months. The only things that affected is FREE
SERVICE. If you service every 5,000KM, you will only get free service for
5K, 10K, 15K, 20K & 25K KM, instead of 10K-50K KM, provided there are
within 2 years.

if you read thru service manual book, there is recommendation from Ford to
service yr Escape before 10KM interval if you travel less. This is what I did:
1) service every 10K KM OR 6 months, which one come first.
2) so far, I never achieved 10K KM after 6 months, so I will always service
< 10K KM. No problem with Ford SC here!!!
3) Although, my Focus is no more under warranty & I am using fully
synthetic oil, I still follow my own schedule (1), coz I believe keeping
the oil so long is not good for my engine. MY OWN THEORY!!! I would rathar
spend little $$ on chaging oil, rathar than spend more $$$ for future
engine break-down.

Hi Ashabmy,

Well I do agree with you on the service interval however was advised
otherwise by the specialist, thus perhaps will send it again this weekend
for the service and rectification.

As for problem 1 & 2 LISTED ON MY EARLIER POSTING i WAS ADVISED THAT
IT IS STANDARD FOR ALL ESCAPE TO HAVE THAT THUS I WAS ADVISED THAT
NOTHING MUCH THAT THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT THUS IN OTHER WORDS I HAVE TO
LIVE WITH IT. WILL DEFINITELY INSISTS THAT THE PROBLEM 1 & 2 ARE DONE
IMMEDIATELY.

No, I do not believe those matters you brought up are 'standard'. But I
would like to know from other Escape owners if they have such similar
experiences.

As for the service interval, a 10K interval is recommended partly to help
reduce maintenance costs so it is pointless changing earlier. However,
you should use at least semi-syn or full synthetic oil (I think Ford
recommends full synthetic).

I am glad your problems have been solved and I understand that one of the
delays was due to the fact that your handphone number was changed, and
they were unable to get in touch with you as they were calling your old
number. They had to call a secretary in your company to get your new
number.

Yap thanks Chips for the info thus it appears that I need to emphasis to
them back that there is actually faults that need to be rectified as my
friend's Escape do not experience such probs.
