hey all... cutie... hmmm... i dunno from my testdrive its really bumpy...
maybe they got me a problem unit to drive I dunno but it really bounced
badly :)
Anyway... in terms of resale I am not sure, I asked a second hand car
dealer before how's the resale value of Frontier compare to Ranger, he say
Ranger is ok but Frontier not so good. But anyway, that is his opinion la :)
Well for me, I think which pick up is the best depends on your criteria
la... all the pick up have pros and cons, Ranger good deal and nice
interior but old model, Frontier super power but interior not so nice,
Hilux very nice design but super HIGH RISK (you won;t have piece of mind
owning it), etc. So depends on your need, get one that fits you and your
budget :)
I got the Ranger cause I was on a budget and Ford gave me a RM7k discount! :)

Haha... looks they loose to Madza but in terms of handling durability?
Maybe we could wait another few months for the new Ranger?

webpower, i have the same problem when i go test drive the frontier. it
was very bumpy, so when i complain to the guy, he say that most test
drive unit have been use to offroad and revving by the salesperson in the
nissan showroom... after that he simply take a new frontier and put on
red car plate for me to test drive. well, the feel is fantastic compare
to the old one...maybe u can go to test drive at other showroom if u
interested... at 1st i intend to buy the hilux sr turbo, but after test
drove it i really disappointed...it's underpower, bad handling and
cornering, very bumpy, etc....for ranger i like the ride and handling
too, back seat also more comfortable compare to frontier...but generally
i still like the look and engine power of frontier, juz few gears to go
can reach 140km/j so easily.. ranger is kinda powerful but still lose to
frontier...but if i'm doing business i'll still go for hilux...

Wanna get new pickup, then wait for new model. the new triton, Ranger or
Navara. Those are a generation ahead of present one.
Or else,
Get a used one. for example a 4 yrs old ranger abt half of new car price.
Plenty available so u can find a non-off road one. Spare part also no problem.

if u go to car dealer, the trade in value is below rm40k.
Spec wise is almost the same as the current ranger but minus the air bag,
abs, EBD.
This older model got no catalyst converter, so give u 20nm more torque than
the current. And with anti-roll bar at the rear, i bet it corner better
than the new. hehe
Performance wise, it only lose to Frontier, ahead all other. But
maintenance wise, is simple, no many electronic to cost u a bomb.
Avoid those hard core off road unit.

i don't think it's that hard to find. and many of us never go offroad
too. I just use mine to carry deliver my stocks within KL.

in sarawak here many 2nd hand ford ranger for sale...not the new
model...the old ranger xlt...price would be around Rm40k to Rm45k depends
on the condition. but mostly won't more than Rm45k. it good to get a 2nd
hand ranger, at least u won't lost much when u wanna change a new car..
ford ranger is also good in handling and reliability...i'm a frontier
owner but not a ranger owner, but ranger would be my second choice after
frontier...

Bought a Ranger Hurricane early 2005. Good truck. No problems with it so
far. Less bumpier than the earlier models. Noticed that from 2005, there
is no antiroll bar at the rear suspension system. Comsumption on the
slight high side due to the mechanical fuel pump but being maintenance
free is the bonus. My wife can handle the truck with ease now.
