sbd, Will pm my SA to you.
Unlike Roo, I avoid buying directly from the franchise car agent (fca). From past purchases I'd learned the sub-dealers though on first pass considerations must be handicapped vs the fca almost always offer better deals whether in price or services. The sub-dealer is in this biz solely to make $ and will do what it take to get you to sign on the dotted line whereas the SAs from fca must toe instructions from the central command and are utterly inflexible.
I booked my Ranger with a sub-dealer in 1st week Dec last year and took delivery before Christmas. I got -1k RM discount and a reasonably good security tint free. My SA also help to arrange NCD transfer from a Singapore car insurance policy.
called goBetong's salesman.damn auto no stock for next 2/3 months!

I've had my Ranger for almost two weeks now. It's much better than I expected. I drove it to Fraser's Hill yesterday to see how it goes on the twisty stuff and it was decent. The bluetooth is excellent. It cruises along at 110kmph without a sound on the highway. The only thing I don't like about it is the blue needles on the meters.
I have a 2011 Accord and at the moment I can't decide which one I like more. The Accord is better to drive, but not massively. It's more luxurious too but the Ranger is almost as good on both scores and has bluetooth, better visability, is more adaptable and is easier for me to get in and out of.
Hello Ranger kakis'
Used to own a 2000 Ranger XLT for 8 months before it was forcefully "exported".
Then bought a 2001 Mazda Fighter until 2011 until I traded it for a 2011 Accord 2.4.
Also bought a 2011 Triton Lite due to "gatal" to drive pick up trucks again.
Now considering to trade in the Triton Lite for a 2013 Ford Ranger XL (the no frills version).
My views on the Accord are similar to roocarrolls's.
Will considering a test drive on the 2013 Ranger before deciding.

I like the Ranger better but the BT50 has traction control. I was considering it but I couldn't even get a test drive of the auto.

I've done 5,xxxkm in my new Ranger. So far, I'm very happy with my purchase. I've been using it for work, family and just once off road to go to Kijang Waterfall.
It handles everything very well. Driving through the city is easy and it really finds it's groove on the highway. The once I took it off road wasn't too extreme but it went up the dirt track to Kijang without any difficulty. Splashing through the recent floods is fun too.
Having bluetooth is great for both music and making phone calls while driving. Most of my driving is city and highway and in that respect it's comfortable and the fuel economy is good (great for a 2 ton pick up). It's a little slow off the blocks but I guess that's to be expected given the size and the weight.
The biggest flaw that I've found is that the sun glasses holder isn't big enough for a pair of sun glasses. I'm surprised that Ford would make a design error like this but if that's the biggest complaint you have about your vehicle, you are probably in a pretty good vehicle.

Good feedback on your ride, mate. How's the after sales service ? Is it bumpy for rear passengers ? Cheers.

I don't know. I've never sat in the back and the service intervals are every 10,000km so I haven't been yet. I'll let you know once I've been to the service centre.
I did ask around about Ford service before I bought it and everyone said that the service was pretty good.

Can you get someone to drive and you sit at the back to find out its comfort ? Do you find the front A pillar very near to you when getting in and out ? How's parking in general and malls ? Cheers.

I've no problem getting in and out. It's easier than a sedan for me because I'm quite tall.
The parking is similar to an Accord. It's not easy to park but it's not incredibly difficult either. I usually reverse park into spaces in both as the mirrors give a better view of the other cars than you can get over the bonnet.
I did sit in the back while my wife test drove it. She didn't go very far and didn't push it but it's similar to the back of other cars. It's less comfortable than the front but it's hardly uncomfortable. Perhaps on long journeys it would be different.
