No lah seem to be u r the only one talking about it, so the dongeng must have come from klentong kaki like u.

6.7km/L must be base on daily Cheras peak hours road. smile_tongue.gif

Everybody try to cut cost, even for luxury car, notice it getting harder to find V8, V10 or V12 car nowsdays. sleep.gif

Mfg can't cahrge u too much for small V6 so might as well just give u Inline 4 instead, just like medium cost house r made of cement bricks instead of clay bricks, developer would only give clay bricks for luxury house, same theory apply, faham ? Sohchai. happy.gif

You don't take brigs to compare with car engines. No wonder you got everything wrong and failed. My comments are based on automotive engineering results. Mechanical and electrical/electronics work that way and if you do things otherwise, they just won't work.

How many full size and large sedan around? How many could afford them here? Not many could afford to go for 7-series, S-Class, A8, Lexus LS, etc nowadays. V8, V10, V12 are available but these cars would cost over RM800k with road tax ranging from RM8k-24k annually. You didn't use your brain? Even back in 80's and 90's, people mostly go for 1.3L, 1.5L, 1.6L, 1.8L, 2.0L. Bigger than these are less unless you are going for luxury cars.

Cefiro A33 refitted with 2.5L V6 gets 6.7km/L in city driving whereas Camry 2.4L driven the same way and location gets 8km/L. Sonata NF 2.4L even better at 9km/L. Fact is, smaller than 3.0L is not feasible to use V6 engine especially fitted on D-segment. That explains why Teana 2.5 V6 is confirmed fuel guzzling losing to other D-segment 2.4L/2.5L inline4.

That what I been telling U, everybody trying to cut cost, didn't u notice car capacity is getting smaller & smaller, even in US 3.0 V6 D segment become rare breed, just like those day where V8, V10 4,5 even 6 liters car was aplenty, nowadays almost non existence apart from luxury model, car capacity getting smaller & smaller, cylinder getting lesser & lesser, now some mfg even go for 3 cylinder which back then only mean for 32 A Kaylcar opps I mean 3 cylinder A segment Kei Car. smile_tongue.gif

Your head. You thing fitting turbocharger to smaller engine car cost cheaper than building slightly bigger engine? Ever wonder why N-brand has not being using turbocharger on common cars? Reason being, they have to get source for turbocharger if they don't know how to build 1 DIY. This incurs cost and it costs a lot more to buy turbocharger & Intercooler and inlet/outlet plenum from Garrett, Honeywell, etc.

Also, newer VGT and Twinscroll turbochargers no longer lag like earlier turbochargers and they could be set to activate at lower speed if engine is not big enough to drag the heavier chassis. Why bother to buy Teana 3.5L V6 when I could get Aston Mondeo 2.0T that is just as refine yet use half less fuel?

Hi could anyone kindly help me with these few queries:
1. There are about 6 buttons below the start/stop button. The 2nd one from the right, what is that for? Some kind of an alarm indicator?
2. My 2011 2.5 Teana comes with TCAT multimedia navigator. I can use the navigation function but can't figure out how to switch it off. This is rather irritating especially when you deviate from your destination. And the navi keeps asking you to turn back
3. Do any of you encounter difficulty using the usb for music? I loaded my favorite music into a thumbdrive, insert it into the usb slot but the multimedia interface can't seems to detect it. Likewise for bluetooth. Can't pair it with my Samsung S4.
4. How and where do you guys keep your bottles of water in the car?

Btw, I'm using the new bridgestone GR100 16 60 215. Quiet and comfortable compare to ps2 and contipremiumcontact which I used on my previous bmw smile_thumbup.gif

Congrats on your new ride. You can a whole bunch of info by reading the manuals.
1. Yes, that's for the alarm. How many times it blinks will tell from the sensor trigger from where. Refer to the cobra manual
2. Switch off the display by selecting the screen tab
3. Yup mine got some intermittent read failure. Got it replaced by TC in 1 month time.
4. If the cup holder doesnt hold, I just put it on the seat. No prob ...

Thanks sacheah. Already figure out the alarm button and how to switch off the navi guide.

Unfortunately I got this Teana second hand and the warranty period already expired. Still trying to figure how to play music files from usb as well as the SD card.

As for the cup holders, I don't prefer to place bottles of water at the center console. Prefer to place it at the foot well. Still trying to find a way to fix or attach or glue a cup holder at that place rolleyes.gif

The navi (updated to latest version) is quite good IMO, I went to KL and Melaka just by depending on it. Other than that I must say TCAT accessories are not something on par with established brand. I also got my reverse camera changed. If u notice, the image is quite blur and there's difficulty to see at night. Somehow they replace for me a better unit in terms of resolution and night viewing. Once the warranty is out and if it breaks down again, i would not hesitate to change to other brand.

Do share your how's ur ride so far. Mine has been good. There's some rattling sound in the glove compartment but fixable. I sent to TC 3 times they could not fix it and decided to DIY and it works. Mostly this kind of sound is related to wiring vibrating against the plastic components. Other than that it's been great. Still wont give up the V6 for any 4 pots with or without turbo smile.gif
