Hello fellow Geng,

When i was in Glenmarie SC price for filter now is as follows

1. Air Filter - RM70
2. Pollen Filter - RM76

It was found out the the power steering and air cond belting is crack although have been use for only 30K . I guess it cannot tahan our weather. Changing it cost about RM60 but labour really gila....RM 60 and after discount =RM42. Close eyes also can do ...... next time buy parts from them and borrow their tool to change it myself.....

GB oil interval is now recommended at 40K and no longer 60K as per manufacturer..... also weather is the culprit....

The timing belt recommendation is 80K or 4 years, so there is a time limit as well because its still rubber. Then again for Bestari, some are old stock and we're not sure the belting condition when they assemble here? It could be in the shelf for quite some time, who knows? It's advisable to ask the mechanic to keep an eye on it every service, check its condition.

As for GB Oil, it should've change long ago, they change the engine oil interval but never change the GB oil change interval, which GB failure seems more common? Besides, the ATF change they do is just the minor change which uses 2 litres? Full change will require 3 bottle of 2 litres, which can really break the wallet. Perhaps can do a full change every 3rd or 4th ATF change?
This will need AL4 experience owners to comment, like intermilan.

If they are recommending oil change every 40,000kms, then they MUST bring down the cost of the g/b oil change.

I try to change every year. Only need 2 litre (1 bottle), less than RM100.
It's recommended by 206gti.net author.

Make sure you use the correct grade or oil:

Automatic gearbox oil change interval change to 40k km is good. win-win for them and owner.

I'll do it at 30K km interval.

And agree that they should reduce the price of the ATF oil.

Risk of gearbox failure exist for any car, but it is higher when the warranty is over (after 3 years of buying) due to wear and tear.

Overhauling an auto g/box is expensive and the financial impact is 100% on owner (when warranty over).

Back to air and pollen filter.

Did you know that for pollen filter, instead of the normal white pollen filter, there is a charcoal pollen filter (genuine part) for 206?

Unfortunately, AFAIK, this pollen filter (supposed to be superior than the normal pollen filter) isn't available in M'sia.

Even the normal pollen filter have a few versions.
The best one, is the one that have yellow sponge all around it edge.
It will make the pollen filter more air-tight than the others.
Unfortunately (again..), very hard to get it here. Usually we get the other versions.
