the focus is not competing with cefiro, accord and camry coz they are more
on luxurious ride.

the introduction of the sedan 1.8 i think is competing with the altis1.8,
sentra1.8 and civic1.7. that is why ppl started to say the price is
almost the same as those model, compact sedan (which is the largest car
segment in m'sia). where some rich uncle or aunty might buy for their
sons or daugthers to go to college.

the 2.0 hatchback in this case should be the sport version to capture the
same market as lynx rs is in. more on young exec who can afford 100k++
car and prefer sportier look. niche market.

just my 2 sen.

Ford is too big to be targetign niche market. Alfa is more a niche market
car. In Europe and US, Ford is a real big player.

Its public preception that conti car are expensive to maintain. Our tepi
jalan workshop day in day out repair Proton and Japs car. Give them a
Ford (not a Mazda rebadge), sure sakit kepala. No choice but to go back
to Ford for servicing.

Unless the price is right and the after sales is visible, any brand will
face an uphill battle anywhere in the world. Until then, Ford passenger
car will remain "niche"

---- my thought so far on a frustuating day. Software error dunno where to
start debug ----

120k++? too expensive for a mid-sized car... Then, Ford will forever be a
niche car for a niche market.

RM120k??? is this the starting price?

RM120 for a mid-size family is a little too expensive. I figure the
Japanese are targeting higher cc with car like Sentra and Civic cuz 1.6
the Korean now sapu market. The Japs (Honda and Toyota) are leaving the
lower cc to City and Vios.

...but now people prefer lower cc car...highest could be 1.6 as the petrol
price increase, maybe 1.8 should be ok!!! So RS wannabe, any comment on
the higher petrol price...will it affected ur car perfomance...hehehe

izzi,
apa lagi? want performance good, sure pocket kosong lo :( hehe. just read
the newspaper, all the petrol company earning big time according to
fortune 500. sigh.... sooner or later we need to minum air kosong makan
maggi lo.

demio,
we still do not know the exact price yet. if 120k++ for a 2.0 hatch i
think is a good buy. bare in mind its a CBU. altis is at that pricing,
and its a CKD.

forumer,
i went to a ford branch yesterday, i got the broucher for the new focus.
haha. damn nice. cool specs. think u guys should check it out, its
available for booking.

i query the price its 120k (plus minus) for 1.8 and 2.0. think the 2.0
price should be more than 120k and 1.8 is less in my opinion. its a very
high spec mid size car, got shiftronic, climate control, abs, airbag,
electric seats and alot more. 2.0 will come with sport seats according to
them.

looking forward to convert my RS to the focus 2.0. hehe.

After owning my Focus for > 4 years, still love it very much especially
with 17" rim setup, H&R sport spring, new rear spoiler, side skirt. Soon
will be ala-WRC front bumper. No mod on engine, only PipperX air-filter.

No major problem even after 4 years. Part easily available from Ford
(although it is "limited" version in Msia). The only minor problem is
getting aftermarket x'corries. Most of it, I got it from S'pore & Brunei.

I saw & touched the new hatch Focus during my recent visit to Ford Brunei.
Quite a nice car, well built, BUT my love for my MKI Focus is still strong Big Smile

Believe me, once you drive Focus, you will feel the difference. Now, I CANT
take Sentra, Altis & Civic anymore. Their body roll & driving dynamic make
me sick.
