The way i look at it.. the price is normal for authorised SC.

The labour charges of RM213 most probably consists of labour charges for changing every SINGLE things on the list, that is, they charged labour for (1) changing the engine oil (2) changing the manual gearbox oil (3) changing the spark plug (4) changing the air filter (5) changing the pollen filter etc.... separately.
Therefore, its seem logical that it sum up to RM213. but again, RM213 just to change all this is a high price.. most probably, they charged by the hours. 1 hours for works cost let say RM70.
So if they took 3 hours to complete the jobs.. RM70x3 = RM210.. something like that.
The parts price look like standard SC price.. no jacking up (as it is already jack up!).

No point crying over spill milk, whats done is done.

Changing of pollen filter after 2 years is quite ok.. so to changing the coolant, fuel filter etc.
but i cant see very good reason to change manual gearbox oil just after 2 years.. top-up is understandable (if needed), but changing all of them still seem unnecessary.. this is manual gearbox lah.. if automatic gearbox tu different lah.
then again the price for the gear oil is okay for authorised SC. hopefully they are using the right gear oil.. i.e. 75w-80 oil. Peugeot have this oil as genuine parts. the bottle looks the same as the automatic gear oil bottle, grey in colour.
any other oil (beside 75w-80 oil a.k.a. API/GL4+ oil will result in difficulty in engaging gears from stationary.

hi Intermilan....

the thing is they charge me.. 2 bottle of manual gear box oil.. (rm92 x 2)..
I wonder why

i have called other service center
they say my car using 1 bottle of gear box oil (2.5 Litre)

Last week i contact my friend who service his car (206 auto, 40k service) on same service center
His car same service, cost way less than mine
(some item is same price: oil, oil filter, spark plug, air filter)
but labor charge is half of mine;
gear box oil (auto) is more than mine;
but add up total, he is hundred over cheaper than mine...

emm.. why 'use' 2x bottle when only 1 bottle (2L) is all its needed? i don't know too.
SC don't do 'flushing' that for sure and if they do, it require a lot more of gear oil.

you might want to re-visit the SC and discuss with the manager if you feel they charged you excessively.
it hard to go and dig further in forum as we don't know what might actually happened during the service.

whatever it is, don't be frustrated over the matters.
if the SC is practicing unscrupulous tactic to make extra income (taking advantage over unsuspected customers), i'm sure they will loose business in the long run. we shouldn't hesitate or feel wrong to publicly hang them dry. just be sure that we are right before we commit ourselves to it.

And it is very discouraging to have all this negative feedbacks about Peugeot (whether is the product or the after sales service) keep cropping up and form the majority of our discussion over here. Its like it is the only constant or sure thing you have to face when its about Peugeot. Surely not a good sign for the future. *Sigh*

hi sam,

Please don't get me wrong. we all understand what you were saying.
but in all honesty and really, we can't do much except to share your experience and be extra careful in the future.
if you feel cheated, and we certainly feel that there is element of unnecessary charges been levied upon you e.g. the 'double charge' for gear oil, unless they were charging RM90.80 for 1 liter of gear oil.... which is quite crazy price there (but it might just be the actual price).

But fundamentally, in the first place , changing the gear oil at 40K / 2 years (even if 3 years) seems quite early for manual gearbox (unless there is a problem with the oil e.g. contaminated with foreign objects).

RM213 for changing ALL the items in the receipt is quite the expected labour charge an authorised SC will charge. ALL item price is also quite standard... (what authorised SC will charge for them).. minus the 'doubtful' gear oil price..

Beside the doubt over the gear oil change.. the rest are quite as expected. really. sorry to disappoint but they do changed a lot of things. and they will change labour either per hours or per item. so rm213 seem quite THE labour cost.

Want it cheaper? one 99% sure way is to go to Peugeot specialist workshop. if warranty is over or if you don't mind it's being made void.

And again, i'm not saying that its not okay for sharing your experience or venting your frustration over the charges.
I am just saying that generally.. it is tiring to open up the forum .. after all this years.. and still keep looking at complaint after complaint regarding how lousy the 206 is or how expensive the service are or how unreliable the 206 is etc...

especially when it is not so true.. and it is not so smart to tell the actual truth (as its hurts and unfair sometime).

then again.. sorry if i offended you. i should never wrote that few last parts in your thread. never meant it towards you. nothing against you, alright? I'm just tired of the never ending negativism being written regarding 206 in this forum. i know quite a lot of them were true... again, i am sorry sam. smile_blackeye.gif

Rm213 for labor is a bit on ridiculous side

even at volcare, they itemize each item labor charge
and they include flushing brake fluid (which is a must in 2-year service, but juru nasim didn do it, and it is important)
and their labor charge still cheaper

too bad i live at north

hi sam,

i understand where are you coming from, i was once facing your situation before when one of the SC in KL they charge me 500 + just to drop and fill the Auto Gearbox fluid. There is nothing much you could do when it comes to overpriced items they charge you. Even when you ask for a quotation before you do the service they might give you the unit price and yes you agreed then when the bill comes it actually Unit Price x Qty and walla~ there goes your wallet haha.

I told myself that i will not go to the authorized SC anymore even with a fancy waiting room with wifi and LCD tv. I am now servicing my lion from one of my friend in PJ, and the price is way cheaper and i am quite happy with the output they gave.
