Nissan will officially start delivering the X-Gear on 11 Sept. Only one variant is available - 1.6 A/T at RM82,800 with insurance.

Here's our launch and test drive report: Nissan Livina X-Gear Launched and Tested

Well... the sad news is that even internationally, the X-Gear is only available in 1.5 and 1.6-litre engines with either 5 M/T or 4 A/T transmission options.

It would have been nice if there was the option for the 1.8-litre MR18DE engine paired with the X-CVT as you suggested. That may even improve the X-Gear's refinement levels even further.

Dear Gunner,

It would be nice if the engine came with variable valve timing. Looks attractive and will consider getting one.

Thanks.

Aiya , ppl over here buy car buy the logo only , they're totally not interested in the car's :
- engine tech (eg dual VVT better with a light boost turbo)
- gearbox tech(at least 6 speeders better pair with dual clutches)
- safety features(eg ESP+ABS , at least 6 airbags , rear disk brakes ..etc..)
- the art of fun driving (superb handling + ride comfort)
- 2011 US crash test result (at least 4 stars lah)
...etc..etc...

Exactly the point!
So it's finally up the each individual preferences that determine the car selection...

For me, I need a car that is:
- 4-5 seater with enough trunk space.
- low FC
- affordable ( below between RM80-90k)
- not too long ( my wife's clause actually )
- low maintenance cost

So I go for this lor... happy.gif
