My optra 1.8 smells petrol right after starting the engine. The smell comes some where from the rear tire near the petrol tank. After I have driven the car let say to work about 20 min the smell is gone.

Appreciate fellow forumers input. No time yet to see mechanic.

Is the fuel filter located near the tank? I thought the location of fuel filter for all cars is near the engine.

Well friend.. you thought wrong. The fuel filter is located at rear right tire. Its filtering the fuel coming out from tank before reach the engine.
