I am about to get my very first car and have my eyes closely on the
Escape. Anyway, I've read some Escape owners' reviews on some US based
websites and I noticed one problem that frequently cropped up was the
problem of stalling for no apparent reason with lost in power steering and
brakes.

I live in an area where it doesn't have the luxury of four lanes flat
highways... in other words, hilly/mountainous county side. Now those are
scary thoughts Dead...

I was wondering if any Escape owners here have had any of those problems.
What is the most common problem you have to deal with your Escape?

Cheers.

It is not always the case that complaints in other countries are relevant
to the models sold in Malaysia. The cars may have different engines,
emission control standards, systems, etc and the problems may be unique
to those countries only. Suppliers for certain parts and systems may also
be different, eg many parts for the Escapes assembled in Malaysia come
through Ford Japan which is also an assembler of the model for many
markets.

The two complaints you mentioned are not apparent here.
