Equalizer1,

I think engine & electronic setting for both are different. When I rev Focus (1.8 manual),
it gives me fast & very responsive, but Escape (2.0 auto) quite slow.... I am refering to
RPM respond at Natural gear. Focus also give me nice engine sound (not too loud) when I
rev it to 5000 RPM 4th gear to 160 KM/h, b4 I shifted to 5th gear. But with Escape, the
engine will cry loud if you rev it too hard (it's auto anyway).

Last time when Ford mechanic put on the diagnostic computer onto my Focus (my remote
lock was malfunction), he told me that we can change engine setting with the diagnostic
computer & can download the software to our own laptop. But you will need the cable to
connect from laptop to the port at your Escape/Focus..............pretty similar to F1 tech.
My Focus is just completed the 2 year warranty, so I am thinking for that idea.....Cool

I've changed my Focus stock air filter to Pippercross. Got more ummmph at low gear.
Thinking of change it to Pippercross open pod, but will have to burn RM500!!. I got it from
Pentagon, Sg. Besi..... so far only for Zetec 1.8 Focus, hope they will bring in for Zetec
2.0 for Escape.

Equalizer1, you know any other place than Pentagon??? They also sell high performace
spark plug (Denso) & disk brake but for Focus only.

The last posting was in Sept 2002.....but since then are there any
performance enhancement add-ons for the Escape. I am about to buy myself
an Escape. It is well and trully a fantastic vehicle but leaves a lot to
be desired when it comes to power. I am not asking for a huge mutha turbo
but some add ons that is going to make a difference. Thinking of changing
to Denso plugs and cables. Any other suggestion?

Puk,
Pentagon is selling Denso performance spark plug for Zetec 1.8 (Focus), not sure if it can
be used for Zetec 2.0 (Escape). The spark plug is specially design for Zetec engine.

BTW, if you want more power, how about V6 Zetec 3.0????.

Equalizer1,
It's OK.
BTW, you're hunting for DVD....... is your Escape equipped with DVD player? I am thinking
of upgrading my audio to good DVD player & screen.... but still waiting for budget!

ashabmy,

Yeah, realised about the denso plugs for Zetec 1.8 but going to start
searching online for one that can be used for the Escape 2.0. Have also
been checking the websites in US and it seem like there is a supercharger
available for the Escape. The only problem is that there may be no one
who understands how to install it here. Major problem that!! At the very
least plugs and cables are easier to handle.

Hey Puck - welcome to the club - if you make any progress with any of the
mods, please share the info.

Ashabmy - I won't put any DVD/VCD player into the vehicle cos it will be
too much of a distraction .... perhaps if I have the good fortune to be
chauffeured around - one day - then maybe .... hahahaa!!Big Smile
