Hey thanks skynet8, I'll go check out the place when I pass by at
that area. I used to always go to Sg Pinang to service my City(Type Z) but
not anymore since Honda has another new SC near to PSDC in Bayan Baru
which is also closer to where I live.

Guys,
I don't know how good the Escape handle off/on road or how tough its
design is.
One thing I do know: Ford assembly quality and service centre SUCKS.
Try own one, and you will be next writer of below thread.

meger,
Try hard, try very hard.... Now you should hv more bargaining power. How
many Escape can u see on the road?
1) Extended warranty
Dunno. But you can try. Why not ask for 4 years, hahahaha
2) Extra accessories?
Wait for the special edition - last time they have it ... it's free with
additional accessories.
3) More $$$ discounts
Unless the salesman cuts his own comm. But then again, when they need to
make their numbers/quotas.... try lah. Maybe u get lucky. Even extra 1K-
2K also good.

Thanks for the info.
Had a long chat at mamak with my buddies, all not encouraging me to jump
into the market yet esp SUVs. Some even asked me to wait until AFTA. Do
you really think AFTA will help?
How ah? On one hand very "itchie", or the other say "no-go"?

I don't own the Ford Escape, but I must admit that I have always liked
this model when it was launched in Malaysia a few years back. In spite of
launches of other new SUVs like the CRV, RAV, Sorento, Tribute, Forrester,
and recently the Nissan X-Trail, my passion for Escape is still
unaffected. I feel that Escape is truly a SUV vehicle; very rugged off the
road but yet 'gentle' on the road.
Only the higher end Freelander SUV can rival the Escape (looks only, of
course!).

Yeap. Look can be very "subjective" ... Mine would be Ford Escape. Too
bad, I still cannot convince myself to jump into the market now.
Especially when X-Trail is blasting intot the mkt. Let's wait and see.

Guys - do you all find the centrally-mounted instrument panel of the X-
Trail acceptable??
Ashabmy - you sure about the Duratec??

Well, the centrally-thinggy is quite okay. But no-no to the door handle.
But with RM129... its pretty interesting. In fact my friend is booking
one. He tested the 2.0 version and said it;s 'powerful' enough.
