hi ss drivers,

i have just gotten my swift 1.5, just wondering if the petrol consumption
for ss is indeed on the high side?

i mean the meter tells me that the average consumption for my ss is about
9.8km per liter! isnt it supposed to be around 13-14 km per liter?
i drive carefully, mix town/ hway.

or is it because my car is still new (about 800+ km travelled so far).

another thing, while engaging from neautral to 1st gear (auto) there is a
slight jerk? is this normal?

i am due for my first service soon, so if the above are not the norm then
at least with your experienced advise i could give the service centre my
feedback.

appreciate your comments.

tq
chris

more ur milage, less the avg of FC!. i did 1st running from a.star to kL day 2 after registered wit JPJ.
more longer i drove, FC came less and less approaching about 16km/L (subjected to how u drive
ss). dunno f new ss actually is wat ur thinking by now! probably 'yes' new ss consuming more fuel.
my thinking is, the policy of locally assemble (Pekan) is to increase local resource and decrease of
imported component. let say, old model was assembled within 90% import and 10% local rather
than new model could be less than 90% imported. which means, local resources increase by 20%
(maybe). this will effecting the quality ss itself. some local component could be more weight and yet
meet the japan's standard. this is just my opinion la!.but then, actually the quality remain same.
watever it is, ss never ss(syok sendiri). thanks.

To qualify as malaysia CKD policy a car model assembly locally must
be at least with 40% local contents and all local contents must be
equivalent in quality and spec from original ....so there will no have
such thing that is heavy weight but same standard happen ...and
normally local assembler will not localize the parts on engine or
chassis or under carriage but more on interior and exterior trimming,
tire/rim, exhaust system....

thanks for the reply.

ya, after the first service it the fc seems to improve a bit, now around
11.5km per litre. highways max at 12.6km only.

hopefully im not that unlucky to get a defective engine somewhat. according
to SC its ok.

if we using same..petrol like shell(better mileage) and BHP more tork.
What I recommended is try using shell ron 97 u will feel more mileage and
