I have 2 questions on radar detector and RDDs used in Malaysia;
I would appreacite it if someone with the right knowledge would provide a
direct response to my question.

1) Does anyone know if the Malaysian Police are still using radar or laser
for their speed traps? what radar band types are they using?

2) Also, does anyone know if the Police are using VG2 or Spectre 1, 2 or 3
Radar Detector Detector?

I have a feeling some people may want to giving out their opinion about
road safety, safe driving, keeping to the limit etc, which I already am
fully aware of. So, please please....stay with the questions. Thanks

Are you bought the radar detector from Taiwan? I'm not sure which type
are they using it now..but the most heahache and difficult to skip is the
laser type. Because it is too late that you already got caught when the
laser shooting at in front or behind corner...none of detector can scan
it.

The latest design of detector is intalled at your car plat which is in
front of bumper. If you want to buy, get the good for at least RM500
above where can scan for 4 signal such as Traffic Trap, Tripod Speed
Trap, Laser and Police Car Radar. But FYI, police car radar is dont works
in Malaysia. Some of my fried had experience with the device is buzzz
when come high power station and broadcasting station which is very
annoying. Think about it.

Wasup.

I currently own a Cobra XRS3000 series laser detector. It works with
sensors to detect from front and back. Just place on dashboard, and the
device can sense if there's a laser shooting. Doesn't really matter front
or back anymore once the alarm comes on, cos still need to slow down.

Problem is, laser is normally detected way too late, cos the police uncle
would have already gotten your speed, and taken your picture. Just need to
smile when the laser alarm comes on.

so, is Malaysian polis using the US system, the UK system, Aussie system,
Taiwan system or what?

Different countries use different frequencies

BTW if a laser is used to shoot you, even if the detector can detect it,
it is already too late.

It takes less than 2 seconds for a laser camera to snap your picture.

Malaysia uses the system from US and is all laser.

Radar long time not there..

My advice? Look for that speeding camry and follow him about 5 car lengths
away and pray someone is following you behind at an equally fast speed.

false alarms!!! no point...better do some other tricks like paying monthly

i think to this date, some still do. but most have gone from radar to digital which in terms of accuracy are far better.

Why would anyone want a LJ? What if I already have a radar detector? If you have a radar detector, chances are you are probably interested in getting a laser jammer as well. For a few simple reasons, radar detectors are AMAZING at detecting RADAR guns well before you are in range of a law enforcement officer, and enable you to either check on your speed or be more aware of the situation ahead. The only problem with radar detectors is that by the time that your radar detector tells you that it senses a laser signal, it is usually already too late.
