My car has more than 18 years history and it original air cond is modified to Japan separater air cond system ( 吊机冷气 ).

According to my knowledge, the air cond has two speeds, one is 4000r/min and 5000r/min. My old one was 4000/min

Recently, my air cond had problem and found out, the internal set of Japan air cond needed to be replaced. End up, cost me RM850.00 as follow:-

One set internal air cond ( 4500r/min ) -- > be told that 5000r/min no longer in production
Receiver
Air cond hose
Connector
Labour

On above, I have two questions :

1) do you think the price is expensive ?

2) is that truth 5000r/min no longer in production ?

Internal air con? Do you mean the cooling coil? But why 4500r/min or do you mean the blower fan?

the air cond is blower fan + cooling coil in a black plastic box. it hides under the dashbroad. Now locally produce this type of air cond because easy and cheaper to maintain.

4500r/min means on high speed, it turns 4500 times per min.

Understood that, last time, few years back, the air cond have two speed. One is 4000r/min another is 5000r/min.

I actually requested 5000r/min because better fan spend however, i am told that 5000r/min no longer in production but only only produce 4500r/min. I have no idea is that truth and therefore, I need a confirmation from your guys.

Thank you

how powerful the air blowing is not measured by r/min. but by cfm.

That is only fan speed. Cooling capacity is different and depends on both the cooling coil (expansion valve) and Compressor also. Term is BTU.
As for CFM is cubic feet per minute and that is something like your fan speed, how fast can cool.
If fan is fast, cooling coil is not cold also no use, blowing hot air.... smile_shock.gif

If it includes the cooling coil, maybe the price is okay. Cannot actually comment on air con prices nowadays as some even cost in thousands

yes,,,,, it comes with cooling coil because it is one set model. Fan + cooling coil.

of course understand that if original set, it will cost you easily thousand but this is not original. it is just new set of air cond but modified into japan air cond style .... they so called ( hanging air cond )
